Wait, What?!? I have a blog??
Seems as though I do not do well in this blogging world as it has been forever I have "blogged" about anything. So much has happened in the past year it will be impossible to update on everything. Long story short, our second little princess arrived 3 weeks early on August 28th, 2008 and is now just about 10 months old! I can't believe it! She is a little spitfire and has made such a fantastic addition to our family!
Kenzie starts kindergarten in a few months and I think it is a competition between the two of us on who is more excited. That kid is amazing. Really and truly amazing.
I hope to keep this thing up to date with the goings on in the Hansen Household. I vow from this point on to become a better blogger.

Welcome to the Milk Factory!
I went back to work.
I think that says it all. Working and pumping is something I would not wish on my worst enemy. It is uncomfortable, embarrassing, and depressing. I'm not quite sure if my co-workers have figured out why I lock myself in my office twice a day for 20 minutes or so but they are definately suspicious. I need a sign on my door. "Milking in progress. Do Not Disturb" Maybe that will stop all the whispering.
I want nothing more than to be cuddling at home with my warm loving baby, rather than being stuck here at work being violated by a cold lifeless machine. I don't want to LOOK at a picture of my baby in order for my let down to happen quicker, I want my actual baby.
Time to break out the pump, turn up the radio, and suck the liquid gold right out of me...only because I love my baby so much.

Brynn Aubry's Birth Story!
Everything was going fine, nothing too much going on other than a few painless contractions. My Dr came in around 7 that evening and said that the blood test came back and one of my blood levels was slightly elevated but she was going to wait and see what the urine test came back at and how things went over the next few days. Scott and I got settled for a long few days in the hospital and tried to get some sleep. All of a sudden, at 12:30am my water broke!!!! When I say broke I mean BURST. This was no small leak, it went everywhere!! I have to admit, it did freak me out a little bit. I paged the nurse and she came in to make sure it was my water (there was no doubting that it was though). My contractions suddenly came on hard and strong. I was in so much pain!! Scott was getting a little worried so he went out and got the nurse who came in and asked me if I wanted an epi (boy did I!!) They came up pretty quickly to put in the epi. When they checked me before I got it I was at 6-7cm! Scott called the 'rents and told them where we were but told them they had some time to get there. (yeah right!) a few minutes later, two nurses came in and started making me turn from one side to the next to try to get Brynn to drop down. I was at 10cm and ready to start pushing!!! Scott called the parents back and told them to get their butts up there ASAP!! (turns out his mom was running red lights trying to get there and my mom sped down the freeway the whole way!!) His mom got there right before I started pushing and my mom and sister got there a few minutes later. 3 hours after my water broke and 6-7 pushes later, my little girl was born at 3:34am on August 28th, 2008!! She was three weeks early and weighed in at 7lbs 2 oz (big for being so early) and is 18in long.

Boy Oh Boy!!!
What is Scott going to do with all these
GIRLS!!!!!
The dog is a girl, the cat is a girl, that makes 5 GIRLS!!!!!!
Although I think he is looking forward to his already scheduled monthly outings as the girls get older and hit puberty! LOL!
Kenzie did great at the ultrasound and even though I feared the sonographer wouldn't allow her in, she was more than happy to have all of us in there. She actually talked and showed Kenzie all the baby parts (even though Kenzie had NO IDEA what she was looking at....and frankly, neither did I) and Kenzie did what I thought and whispered all her questions to me and Scott. She was really excited to get to be there with us to see the baby. The sonographer put an arrow to the girl parts and wrote "Baby Sister" on the u/s screen to tell us. It was cute. (I am glad I don't have to figure out how to change a brother into a sister!!)
I have to be honest though, I am slightly disappointed as I was really hoping for a boy this time but I am sure that will be gone once I get to start shopping for all the baby stuff and start planning the room.
I will try to post pics of our little "Cupcake" (Kenzie named her) as soon as I can get them scanned in!!

Spreading the Word...

All in all, it was a great reaction from both of them, and a great way to end Easter Sunday. We are so excited to finally tell our families and get the word out that we are expecting. Kenzie is excited that the secret she wasn't good at keeping isn't a secret anymore.

Why did I want to do this again?
Who was I kidding when I thought that I would actually enjoy pregnancy this time? I want to. I really do. I am jealous of all the women who walk around with their cute little baby bumps and their beautiful pregnant glow, while here I am with my frumpy, bloated self, and dreadfully disgusting pizza face.
Why can’t I be one of those that dishes over how exciting it is to be pregnant, that basks in the attention brought on from a growing waistline? That looks ever so cute in the eccentric maternity fashions? I seem to be the negative nelly of the bunch because I very much dislike this whole pregnancy thing. There is nothing I particularly like about waking up and immediately heading to the toilet to dry heave for about 15 minutes before I can get in the shower only to FINALLY have something come up as soon as I step in and me having to dance around so I don’t step on the mess before it can get down the drain. And again, nothing too exciting about the “is she pregnant, or just fat” stage where nothing seems to fit and people start wondering if maybe you have been eating a little too much McDonalds lately. And let’s not forget about poor Scott who never knows when I might blow up on him for even thinking about eating one of my strawberries, and has no idea what to do when I start crying like a mad woman while we are watching a commercial about dog food. (No honey, I am not in pain, it is just so amazing how cute puppies can be!)
In all serious though, I am so thankful I actually have this opportunity to complain about the ailments of pregnancy. I am fully aware of the gravity of instantly losing something you never knew you wanted so bad. Going through all of this, and more, is nothing compared to the happiness that such a small thing can bring into your life. Once you hold that little being in your arms, pregnancy is definitely worth it.
